Wireless smoke detectors are a great additional to an alarm system. If a smoke detector identifies smoke it will start beeping like a normal smoke detector but it will also trigger your alarm system regardless if the alarm is armed or disarmed.
Smoke detectors are connected to the 24 hour zone on the alarm. This is a great feature because if there is smoke or a fire at one end of your home and you are far away from the smoke detector you will still hear your sirens sounding and if you have a GSM alarm panel you will be notified by your mobile phone.
