Value Quality Performance works well

As others have said, they usually work if you are within a meter or two of the controller but will fail at further distances. I've used both the Vera controller and, more recently the Smartthings hub. Can't tell you how many hours I have wasted trying to get them to work for me. -

Value Quality Performance Worst Product in the range
Review by Ed Borgon 16/11/2020I have several AOTEC products and I have also tried other brands that produce Z-Wave Devices such as this one. This one is by far the most troublesome and the worst. Build quality is Excellent but it fails on everything else. Devices add Fien to my HC2 or HC3, as long as you hold them as close as possible, but as soon as you move them to the desired location they fail to communicate back to base.
I have 6 of these and only 2 are left that actually work, never again. -

Review by Timon 30/05/2020These devices are total crap. I have 4 of them for more than a year - ZW096 and ZW110 models. They work fine BUT while not more than 2 metres from the base station/other node. Minor obstacles - walls or objects - and there is no connection to the device. This is absolutely impractical for any kind of real-life installation. I am extremely disappointed and actively looking for an alternative. -

Value Quality Performance Awesome Pool Pump Timer & reading Lamp
Review by Bradon 23/04/2019My pool pump timer was quite unreliable due to its age and not keeping time when tariff power went out. When combined with Z wave extender - reaches all the way back to my shed, and as the vera is doing all the automated timing I can run scenes for summer and winter. Partner loves to be able to switch on reading lamp that sits behind our lounge as the manual switch is hard to get to. -
